The Ark Nursery

The nursery first opened in 1992. It is situated on the top floor of St Martin's Centre in Stonydelph (on the outskirts of Tamworth) by Ellerbeck shopping centre. The nursery is run by a voluntary Management Committee which is made up of members of St Martin's congregation and nursery parents.
The nursery employs a Supervisor to oversee the day to day running of the nursery.

Safe outside play area

The nursery also employs four fully qualified nursery nurses, a nursery cook and a cleaner. All staff attend regular training sessions to develop and maintain their learning and understanding of your child's needs.

We are a small and friendly nursery where each child is treated as an individual and will be learning in a safe, secure, caring and stimulating environment.

It is a safe, clean and nurturing environment designed to encourage your child to develop.
Children are cared for by qualified, friendly and committed staff.
We cater for children between the ages of 2 and a half to 5 years.
The children have use of a secure enclosed outdoor play area with colourful safety flooring.
Nappy changing facilities are provided.

Monday to Friday 9:15am - 3:30pm (term time).

The nursery is registered with OFSTED (see www.ofsted.gov.uk for inspection reports.)

Flexible sessions and fresh cooked lunches are available.

Pre-School
The nursery provides a stimulating, welcoming and clean environment to help build your child’s foundation to learning, offering them the best start in their education ready for when the begin school.
The nursery follows the curriculum of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Throughout the day there are structured and free flow activities to help your child develop.

The nursery offers 20 places per session, with a variety of flexible sessions available.

Session Times Morning – 9.15am-11.45am Lunch Club – 11.45am-1.00pm Afternoon – 1.00pm-3.30pm Full Day – 9.15am-3.30pm

Lunch Club
At the nursery fully cooked meals are provided during lunch club.

Example Menu.
Monday – Pizza with pasta in tomato sauce, Fruit Crumble and custard
Tuesday – Quiche, potatoes and salad, Jelly, fruit and ice cream
Wednesday – Lamb Casserole with potatoes and vegetables, Egg Custard
Thursday – Chicken risotto with mixed vegetables, Baked apple with sultanas, raisins and custard
Friday – Fish Fingers, potatoes and peas, Rice pudding

If your child has a specific dietary requirement then an alternative meal will be offered.
Menus are rotated on a four weekly basis.


Funding
Children aged 3 years and above are entitled to the NEG (Nursery Education Grant) funding the term after their 3rd birthday. See chart for eligibility.

At the Ark Nursery children can access 15 hours of funded care, this can be used towards care during lunch club.

Parent and child

Stay and Play
The nursery provides a parent and child session where you can come along and meet other parents and children. This is run by volunteer parents who have links with the nursery, it is 50p per session and refreshments are available.
The session runs every week on Tuesday’s 9.30am-11.15am.

Friends of the Ark
The nursery offers a group for parents to join to help support the nursery by fundraising. The group also gives opportunity for parents to meet other parents and to become more involved within the nursery. A member of staff oversees the group and arranges regular meetings to discuss any issues.

Management Committee
The Committee are responsible for the overall nursery and is made up by members of the church and parents of the nursery. The Committee includes parents’ representatives appointed by the annual meeting.
